Best time to visit

Year-round; clearest views in the dry winter (May–September)

The Blyde River Canyon is the centrepiece of Mpumalanga's Panorama Route — one of the world's largest green canyons, its subtropical walls plunging to the river far below. The Three Rondavels, three round, grass-topped peaks, are its signature view.

Nearby stops string together along the escarpment: God's Window, Bourke's Luck Potholes and a series of waterfalls, making the whole route an unforgettable day's drive.
